This came about when the local women group began a soccer club as a recreation activity during the weekend after a busy and hard work during the week. The purpose was to encourage the youth not to be idle. Most of the youth loiter around doing nothing and it became a temptation of becoming alcoholic and cheeky leading to crime in the community and hence to keep the youth both (girls and boys) community soccer clubs were began.
At one point one staff of Set Apart saw them playing soccer without soccer boots and uniforms. The girls/women played with dresses while the men/boys played with khaki pairs of shorts and normal shirts. It was at this juncture that soccer uniforms were donated to the women group to give to the clubs. This led to the primary and secondary schools head teachers requesting for the same school soccer uniforms.
The result has been that more soccer clubs have been formed in the villages and have regular competitions against each other. The clubs are for both the young and old. This has reduced the young and old from drinking during the weekend instead they flock to the soccer fields to watch and cheer their teams.
